Workshop at non-profit sleep away summer camp, Beam Camp focusing on collaborative making and hands-on skills that explore innovative thinking. Each summer, campers design their own independent projects and take part in collectively building a large-scale installation project selected through an international design competition.
Session I 2017's project was Kinetic Cluster, designed by Fruzi Karig and Kate McAleer
"Flexible Geometry" was a two week fundamentals workshop with campers ages 11-17, teaching core skills on building the final project. Campers built their own geometric lanterns, kaleidocycles, and worked to construct and assemble panels of the Kinetic Cluster geodesic dome.
